Little treasures of childhood at Eldreds

Eldreds next auction of antiques and interiors includes a huge one-owner collection of modern collectable ceramics comprising many hundreds of examples with something for every taste and budget.
Beswick and Royal Doulton feature prominently, with many models from children’s tv, nursery rhyme and film favourites such as Trumpton, Winnie-the-Pooh, Popeye, The Snowman, The Flintstones and Wind in the Willows. Other Disney collections include The Jungle Book, Fantasia, Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, Peter Pan, Lady & the Tramp, Alice in Wonderland and 101 Dalmatians.
Approximately 120 Royal Doulton Bunnykins figures include ‘Historical Figures’, ‘Trades’ and ‘Roman Empire’ and more than 100 small Beswick Beatrix Potter figures are joined by rarer Gold Edition blown figures, including ‘Tabitha Twitchit and Moppet’ and ‘Squirrel Nutkin’. Other Beatrix Potter-themed ceramics include figure groups, tableaux and musical boxes.
Also included are examples of characters from ‘Widecombe Fair’ by Will Young, ‘The Illustrious Ladies of the Stage’, ‘Ladies of the British Isles’, ‘Egyptian Queens’, ‘The Pig Prom’, farming-themed figure groups by Border Fine Arts and Country Artists, approximately 100 Royal Doulton character jugs and Kevin Francis pieces from his collections such as ‘Young Clarice Cliff’.
A second one-owner collection of approximately 100 Swarovski pieces will also be included in this sale.
Atmospheric auctioneers at Sticklepath
The August auction at the Sticklepath Saleroom was another great day for bidders and vendors alike.
Held at Bowdens Nursery the saleroom was a hum of action with bidders in the room (including the local characters hollering frequently that make it all very entertaining), telephone bidders, the internet humming away and all the fun of a carnival under the watchful eye of Auctioneer Mrs Ann Thorp (Ann Teak) assisted by her trusty assistant Mr David Force and backed up of course with the meticulous organization of Tim Penrose (ahem…)
Since September 2022 Ann and Tim have created a wonderful, quirky fun filled auction with never a dull moment and a fantastic local atmosphere.
However, we need a continuing supply of wonderful goods in order to keep up the entertainment.

We take items in from Monday 11th September 10 am to 4 pm

A flat rate of 20% vendors commission
