THE Devon County Agricultural Association (DCAA) has announced the departure of Devon County Show manager, Sam Mackenzie-Green.
Sam has been with the DCAA for the past four years and has been responsible for three shows, including one diligently executed during the Pandemic in 2021 when most agricultural shows were cancelled. She moves on to a Business Development position in Somerset.
CEO of the DCAA Chris Skelton said: ‘Sam has been a huge asset to the organisation during her tenure.
‘Her unrelenting enthusiasm, professionalism and commitment will be sorely missed.
‘Despite the challenging circumstances in recent years and while the Westpoint arm of our organisation was unable to operate during the Pandemic, she has been instrumental in achieving the DCAA’s charitable objectives by running three commercially successful events.
‘We wish her every success in her new role.’
Lisa Moore, who has been assistant show manager for the past year, will lead the team for the 2023 Devon County Show as acting show manager.
‘Lisa is one of the longest standing members of the Devon County Show team with 20 shows under her belt,’ continues Chris.
‘This puts Lisa in a strong position. Her knowledge of the show is unparalleled, and we are extremely confident that she will do an excellent job in building on Sam’s achievements with a successful 2023 Devon County Show, which returns to its original May dates after two years, as the premier agricultural event in the South West.’
Sam will continue in an advisory role supporting the Show team with planning and preparations for the May 2023 Devon County Show.
