A NETBALL tournament for large and small schools in the Tavistock area was recently held by Okehampton Community Recreation Association (OCRA).

Milton Abbot Primary School hosted the small schools three way competition between Milton Abbot, Lamerton and Mary Tavy & Brentor. Each team played twice, with Lamerton emerging winners, beating both Mary Tavy & Brentor and Milton Abbot.

The next day it was the turn of St Peter’s Junior School in Tavistock to host the large schools tournament, with teams from Tavistock, Horrabridge (A&B), Bere Alston, Whitchurch (A&B) and St Peter’s (A&B).

The sun was shining and some very good netball was played. Whitchurch A took first place, winning all their games, with Horrabridge A in second place, only losing to Whitchurch.

Thanks were expressed to both Milton Abbot and St Peter’s for allowing the events to be held at their schools.
